Does it cheat? NO! It's free software - simply look at source code on github (http://github.com/alcacoop/it.alcacoop.backgammon) A frequent complaint from some, new to NN (neural net) backgammon programs is "the program cheats". No, it does not cheat. If you are not convinced of this, try one of the NN programs (gnubg, jellyfish) that offer a "manual dice" feature. You will find that they win just as well you roll the dice or not. The perception that a skilled opponent is always incredibly lucky is a due to a combination of human nature..we remember our bad luck and forget the good rolls, and an ignorance of the subtle methods that experienced players use to maximize their chances.

Smart, challenging. All those whiners who say that this game cheats just don't play well enough. For once and for all: backgammon is a game of skill, not just chance. At advanced level I almost win half of my sets of first to 7. Just watch the game's strategies and imitate them, don't just play safe but take risks.

Very strong AI engine though it sometimes gives up too many points upon resignation. I would give this 5 stars if that is fixed and two features were added: 1. toggle prompt for double during the game. There is nothing more frustrating than bring asked if you want to double before every move when you're completely blocked and will remain blocked for a while. 2. Auto move option if your move is forced. Perhaps add a fast forward feature along with auto move so you can skip ahead to when you have an actual decision to make. Overall, great app.

I used to give this a 2 and it still seems the dice goes the games way but
if you are playing on expert to grandmaster level it will definitely
exploit a wrong move you do and capitalize on it. But if you make the right
moves you can beat it

Fixing the dice rolls does not equate skill. A grandmaster should win because of his/her skill at backgammon, not because he/she gets all the magical, improbable rolls, always at the right place at the right time. What a waste of time!

Cheats. Uses random generated dice most of the time but cheats at higher levels to simulate skill. You can see this as the dice spin is over quicker when it cheats compared to random generation.

bad algorithm،gnu backgammon is so real in grandmaster level،but in this game: you are baby & cpu is grandmaster 😂

unfortunately this app has a major bug when playing online via FIBS. If hou are on the bar, it automatically moves one of your pieces into a spot that doesn't relate to what the dice shows. It then locks up and you have to quit. Fix it please.
