Emptying your battery and heating it up will shorten battery life not extend it. Charging it fully and the heat associated will also shorten life but not as much. Charging to 80% discharging to 20% will extend lithium ion battery life. Don't believe me? Research it.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and I wanted to drain my battery fast. The moment I turned the drainer on, my batter was at 43%. Ten minutes later, my phone put out a message that it was overheating and closed all aps and I saw smoke coming out of it for a brief moment. It still works, after I turned it off and put it in the fridge for a little bit. Well, the app had all the good intentions in the world, but something went terribly wrong. Still, for as long as it worked, it did what it is supposed to do.
