Description by BlueTree Lab(from Google Play)
BlackOut: Stay Focused and Block Distractions / Beat Cell Phone Addiction / Mobile Phone Addiction
Stay focused, block distractions, reduce screen time, and beat cell phone addiction with BlackOut.
BlackOut is a focus app with a schedule. Set a start time, a finish time, and the days of the week, then turn the slot on. During those hours it dissuades you from using your phone. Scrolling, gaming, and checking apps get a lot harder.
Use it while you study, at work, or at night when you want less screen time. It keeps repeating on the days you picked until you turn it off, like an alarm.
How To Use • Open the app and accept the required overlay permission • Tap the floating plus icon • Select a start time • Select a finish time • Select the day(s) of the week you want it to run (including every day) • Activate the switch on the time slot in the list • Remember to turn it off if you don't want the schedule to keep repeating.
Features • Register up to 3 time frames of up to 4 hours each for free • Helps with phone addiction, lower screen time, and better sleep • Block distractions on a schedule so you can stay focused • Dissuades you from using your phone during the hours you choose • Weekdays only, weekends, or every day • Multiple time slots (unlimited for premium) • Time slots that overlap two days (premium) • Whitelist (premium)
Recommended For - People trying to beat cell phone addiction, screen addiction, or smartphone overuse - Students and workers who want to block distractions and stay focused - Anyone who wants to reduce screen time, stay off their phone at bedtime, or take a digital detox - People who feel they are ignoring family and friends because of their phone - Anyone who needs an extra push to stay off their phone - People who feel more anti-social because of smartphone habits - People worried about nomophobia (fear of being without a phone)
Troubleshooting If you're new and BlackOut isn't behaving: • Set times in 24 hour format (11pm is 23:00). • It can be a couple of minutes late. That's to save battery. A 3 minute slot often won't fire. • Turn off battery saver (STAMINA mode, etc.). • If your phone uses Doze, turn Doze off in Settings. • Protected apps / whitelist (Huawei and similar): add BlackOut. • Still stuck? There is a slight bug or vulnerability in its function which can let me disable the lockout, which is when select the call and then exit the caller app, for a split second, phone is unlocked which is the enough time for me to swipe my apps and then repeat the opening and closing of caller app again and this time I click on blackout app and open it, do it again, and I can turn off the lockout, it takes a few tries to get it right, but I can unlock the phone in 2 min with this method, please fix this.

Best Productivity Focus Distraction Blocker app I have ever used. Just 1 ask, add feature to white list apps like if have to use YouTube to see downloaded lecture video only, while full phone is blocked and have data switched offed option so after block, there's no way to browse other apps or anything settings, just the whitelist app which too is offline.

Its good app, helps to keep our scrolling in check, but my only concern is why is there a permanent notification in my drop saying "Blackout checking....." what is it checking, I have tried to remove it, but it's there since the moment I gave permissions to this app. This concerning and irritating and may only reason the Uninstallation this app.

The app is not working properly, it worked once, and now I have to go to the app for it to work, the reason I downloaded the app was, so I could help myself with my phone addiction and my time blindness, I used to use it, and it would work perfectly, honestly with the new update I'm quite disappointed. This app was my absolute favorite.

After restart or switching it on after switch off the blackout and lock disappear it doesn't work. There must be update so that it would automatically work in the same mode even after switching it off/restart. Work on it otherwise it's useless paying 500/ month.

When I lock my phone 1 or 2 hours it always automatically opens in 15-20 min
