Description
This is the Android client to play board games with other people at Boardspace.net. Boardspace hosts over 100 games, mostly 2-player abstract strategy games, but also some multi-player and Euro games and word games.
All games are played in real time, not turn at a time. Games can be suspended, but it is expected that you will play complete games in one sitting, as you would when playing another person face-to-face.
Our most popular games are Hive and Euphoria.
Tablet sized screens are recommended. Devices with at least 1G of memory are recommended.
The client is fully cross-platform; using your Android, you can play other people who are using IOS, Macs, or PCs.
The site, and the app, are completely free, have no advertising or in-app purchases. Just the games.
Recent changes: fix pop-up magnifiers for some marginal cases.

It seems like a good app, but in my case I couldn't figure out how to start a game. I was hoping to see a start button or something. Probably something obvious I'm overlooking. I don't want to take points off because I didn't understand something - a common occurrence. I had to squint to see the text, but again, no point deduction from old guy with failing eyesight. Using Samsung S21 ultra.

Installed it for a HIVE on my phone and PC. Is this made by one person? It's a blast, you can play cross-platform. I was just playing from PC with a friend using his iphone. Negative reviews are just pathetic. Well, my frieds, while UI is not perfect but still you can't figure out how to start a game, you probably should not be playing any of the games this app has. Huge thanks to the dev. Please stop downgrading this app due to your own stupidity. I lost to a Dumbo btw, lol.

Literally doesn't work Update: crippled UI, couldn't figure out how to launch an actual game within 15 minutes, pretty much anything but reg and login do not respond to clicks, cannot post anything to chat (if this is a chat as I'm not even 100% sure what it is, but looks like chat), removed. I understand, that the main point of this app is not about UI fanciness or making it obvious how to use it, but there's some extent to how bad you can design UX in your app. This is review of a web-oriented software engineer. Update 2: + one star for your attention. I'm (was) using Nexus5. Username is TPTB (most likely)

Reposting this as it was somehow deleted: This app is unusable. I was hoping to play Euphoria. Unfortunately I have never gotten to place a single worker, because "dumbot" takes so long to pick recruits that I give up. It is slow enough that I wouldn't be surprised if it would take 3+ hours to play a game. Beyond that, the UX for looking at cards and selecting them is just plain awful. Not at all designed for a touch screen device. I received a response from the developer stating that a tablet will be too slow to play against a bot, and I shouldn't have been able to play against one in the first place. If I want to play against a bot, I should use a desktop. They are going to make some adjustments to what devices will be allowed to play against bots. I would argue that this should indicate a serious flaw in the logic used by bots. The decisions made are very simple compared to many other games on mobile devices. I have never seen a computer opponent act so sluggishly. It explains why the applet used by the website is sometimes so slow that it actually will mess with my keyboard buffer on a high-end laptop.
