Welcome to Tantrix.com - a spatial game of colour and strategy - now available on mobiles!
This fascinating New Zealand game was invented in 1988 and has since won numerous awards worldwide for its quality, beauty and elegance. It consists of 56 unique hexagonal tiles connected by red, green, blue and yellow paths. Players must try to block or control their opponents path-colour while simultaneously growing their own.
Online Tantrix has been available for nearly 20 years, and now with this app you can compete against the international Tantrix community on your mobile. Or challenge the resident robot opponent to a game anytime! Tantrix is simple enough to learn, yet with the possibility to be infinitely complex. Unlike conventional strategy games such as chess, in Tantrix the ratio of skill and luck varies from game to game. The best player usually wins, but not always!

Dragging the pieces around is a /little/ bit awkward but overall this is a fantastic and smooth little game to kill 10-30 min with a friend.

Wow, this is excellent! The gameplay is fluid, and I had no problem playing the robot (on a Samsung edge 6). I was worried that there would be false positives on the tile selection or placement, but everything was perfect, and after a few seconds I even forgot I was playing on a tiny board. A lot of thought has also gone into the layout - I found it most comfortable in landscape mode, but that's maybe just because I'm used to the pc version. Congratulations Dave :-)

I love tantrix the game and have the physical set but this mobile version really needs a complete overhaul rather than attempting to port the pc version. Edit: I've persevered a bit more, and it is a good game and the tantrix I remember, so I have improved my score, but it could still do with better use of screen real estate (on my s6 at least). I pretty much have to wear glasses to play it which is unusual. There are features that help such as magnifying glass, but it's not obvious that feature exists. It has the feel of an old school java app in appearance which isn't great but ok.

This is not an app game. The installation just activates a web page log on. After making an account the web browser based game hardly works at all. Really disappointing.
