Bonanza Gold

Build big-number estimates from factors and see which one threw you off 🧠🔢

Bonanza Gold is an estimation trainer 📊. You get a question that nobody can answer at a glance, such as how many cups of coffee a busy cafe serves in a year ☕. You do not type a number. You build it from smaller factors.

How it works ⚙️

Each factor sits on a decade rail, from 10^-2 upward, with a leading digit you can raise or lower. The running estimate updates as you change each one. When you submit, Bonanza Gold scores your answer on a log scale and tells you whether you were Dead on, Near, Fair or Off 🎯.

Then it shows where the error came from 🔍. Each factor is compared with a reference value, so you can see which assumption was too high or too low. The biggest miss is marked, and you can re-run the estimate with that factor changed.

What you can do ✨

Pick a challenge from a list, filter by topic, and start a guided chain with a hint 💡.

Play the daily set of five quick calls, such as which of two numbers is bigger. Your score is shown with a short explanation for each item 📈.

Work through the course. It has five chapters of three short lessons each. In a lesson you change one factor and watch the worked total follow 📚.

Keep your results in My estimates. Filter them by band or topic, add a note, attach a picture, or run an estimate again 📝.

Save anchors in the toolkit. These are numbers you know well, such as the days in a year, ready to reuse in a chain 🧩.

Why use it 🌟

Good estimates come from getting the powers of ten right. Bonanza Gold gives you short, repeatable practice at that, and it shows you what to fix after every answer.
