Using animated bar codes, it's possible to send data over the air using only the camera. This app is the barcode decoder (receiver). An encoder (sender) can be seen at https://cimbar.org.
Recent changes: * the encoder webview now runs better/faster/more efficiently! * draws to screen on background thread. This is most visible as a more stable framerate on older devices. * file loading (at the start of encoding) should be much snappier * the decoder now makes a best-effort attempt to set the mime type of a file at save time. Some devices won't set the file type properly without this. * misc other bugfixes and speedups

Awesome work, was able to decode and save the file only the first time, and for the second time it didn't download try to save the file. Had to close the app and then scan the encoder.

Nifty idea, but a null use case! There are no circumstances under which this app has any benefit. Purporting to be for situations precluding any signal-based file transfer or even direct connection via cable, then how would you encode the file, since it requires their website? Putting aside for the moment that deal-breaking confidentiality compromise, you would have to have previously encoded the file. Also, your recipient would need this app, as well! It just has no real use besides a toy.
