Card Counter: Halcyon Nights

You step off a bus into a strip-lit city with one bag and an address. Mara used to count cards for a living, and what she remembers is not the winning nights. It is the nights she knew when to stop. She offers to teach you both halves of that.

Walk the neighbourhood and meet the people who actually live in it. Take a seat at the Copper Room when you want one, play real six-deck blackjack with her coaching on or off, and signal the running count between deals. When the room starts watching you, leave. Sleep, and find out what the street did without you.

WHAT YOU LEARN

• Real six-deck rules: stand on soft 17, double after split, late surrender, and blackjack pays 3:2
• Basic strategy you can trust, checked against an independently written chart across every hand, every dealer upcard and every legal action
• Hi-Lo counting learned by doing it: count the exposed cards, signal your running count between deals, then convert it to a true count
• The Illustrious 18 and Fab 4 index plays, opt-in, and only offered once you have converted four true counts with no help at all
• Why a correct decision still loses sometimes, said plainly instead of hidden

WHAT YOU LIVE

• A neighbourhood that keeps its own hours, with residents on their own schedules
• Side stories about people, not errands: a missing teammate, a borrowed keepsake, a dealer weighing up a quieter job
• Keepsakes to find and collections to fill, and a room of your own to furnish
• Backers who entrust table money under written terms, kept separate from your own, where an honest loss creates no debt
• Three endings, decided by the days you put in and the agreements you kept, never by a final hand

EARNED, NOT BOUGHT

Skills come from what you actually did. Read the discard tray well enough and Deck Read becomes yours. Convert true counts unaided and index plays open up. Nothing in this game is unlocked by spending, and nothing you can watch or buy will change a card, an odds calculation or a mastery record.

COMFORT

Large text, high contrast, reduced motion, separate music and effects volumes, and haptics that stay off until you turn them on.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT THIS IS

The money in this game is fictional. There is no wagering, no way to buy chips, no cashout and nothing real at stake. It teaches a published counting system and does not certify skill or promise anyone an advantage anywhere.

Plays offline. No account and no sign-in. Contains ads. No in-app purchases.

One city. A fair deck. A life on your own terms.
