There will be a delay in your recorded data and maped signals and towers. Without proper methods, the towers will be a general direction. You Must travel in blocks around towers to accurately locate and position that tower. I think the paid version speeds up your contributions to the big maps. Sometimes the app map gets a little hinky. Give it time. Recently there have been a few quirks. But by far, this is The Cell Mapping app.

Shows how many cell towers you are connected to which I use to cross-reference between other apps that show how many cell towers and what the cell tower identification is that I'm connected to determine whether there is a stingray device being used. I just wish this app would display the ID of all the cell towers that are connected instead of just the first one. But it does display that multiple towers seem to have the same signal strength and that seems very suspicious when there's three

I've been using this app for over a decade, and I love it. I do wish the developer would fix the bugs and issues other users are having though. Also, only four stars for me because of how the ads are but setting your private dns to adguard fixes that. Not having the ads cycling will cause your modem to sleep more and thus plot less signal points unless you have YouTube playing or another app keeping the modem in constantly awake mode.

I don't understand how the app can be so useless when the webpage is so useful. Guys, the app doesn't show cell towers on the map! That's the No.1 job of an app called Cell Mapper. Went through logging in & granting permissions etc., got a map with no cells on it. On the webpage, no account, no login, you get to choose your network & service, and there are the cell towers on the map. Come ooon.

The map is not showing any cells anywhere. No point in having this app....and it always defaults my location to middle of the ocean despite all permissions allowed. Absolutely useless. Easier to drive around looking for cell towers by car!

You authorize location information all the time and when you want to get any info about cell towers it says you've reached the API limit every 15 seconds and forces you to go through another captive verification. It's WORTHLESS FOR THE USER but gives them a lot of data for their use.
