Description by IndieFoundry(from Google Play)
Chess endgames decide games, and almost nobody practises them. ChessEndings is a chess endgame trainer that turns endgame theory into muscle memory: instead of watching lessons, you play each ending out against a client-side Stockfish tuned for maximum practical resistance. It never gives up the way raw engine lines do, so you have to find the real winning technique.
Checkmate practice, from the basics up - King and queen checkmate, and the exact stalemate trap that ruins it - King and rook checkmate with the box method - Two-rook ladder mate - Two bishops checkmate - Bishop and knight checkmate, the one everybody fails - Two knights: why it cannot be forced, and the one exception Every checkmate is a playable drill against perfect defence, not a diagram.
Endgame families - King and pawn endgames: opposition, triangulation, the square of the pawn, key squares - Rook endgames: the Lucena position, the Philidor position, the Vancura defence - Bishop versus knight, opposite-coloured bishops, queen versus rook - Passed pawns, zugzwang, back rank mate, the 50 move rule
Why it sticks - Every mistake explained: when you slip, the coach shows what went wrong and the idea behind the right move. - No memorising squares: revisit a position and the board is transformed, so you learn the technique, not the pattern. - A different defence every time, never a weaker one, so the whole endgame gets practised and not one line. - Rated Gym: endless endgame practice matched to your level, every verdict checked against the tablebase. - Journeys: guided paths from the basic checkmates up to the hard rook endings. - Scan your own games: we find the winning endgames you spoiled and the exact move where it slipped. - Play as a guest: no account needed to start.
Premium A one-time lifetime purchase unlocks unlimited daily drills, every family and journey, and endless rated Gym sessions. It is not a subscription: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel.
Whether you are learning your first king and queen checkmate or sharpening a rook endgame technique you always misplay, ChessEndings makes chess endgame theory stick by making you play it.
Recent changes: - Endgame challenges: checkmate races against the clock, including queen against rook, with monthly and all-time leaderboards. - In lessons, the board now plays out the moves the coach describes. - The end of a drill celebrates your result, with confetti for records and new levels. - The main button now always sits at the bottom of the screen. - French, Spanish and German texts rewritten to read naturally. - Safer sign-in. - Fixes: stuck game scans, three wrong lesson explanations, and more.

This is a complete chess endgame training tool. Play various endgame positions or make/import your own custom positions, and train against a table base or engine to find the exact best moves to reach checkmate in the least number of moves. Drill positions to create records to compete against other players while earning XP points. Another great feature is the ability to find endgame positions from online games for training. 5 stars!
