★★★★★ I mainly use this app as the interface for FICS, a free platform to play chess with other players worldwide. This app can be considered as THE reference for this platform. It allows you to register with FICS (and obtain an ELO rating) or play immediately as 'guest'. Finding partners is easy thanks to the great graphical interface; you can also signal that you are willing to play (with a time control that you choose) and someone will pick up the challenge within seconds. You can chat, the material balance is shown and when finished the game is automatically stored on your device for postmortem analysis. You can also follow other people's games. But there is much more-great puzzles, tutorials, playing against the machine, and excellent game databases for analysis. In short, a bargain for all the capabilities- in addition you will get friendly, excellent support.

★★☆☆☆ I just bought the app again, couldn't redeem my previous purchase on another tablet? Bought the full app and thought that I would be able to log in into FICS with my normal nick. But the app does NOT allow me to sign in with my nick, and allows e to play only as guest. If there is minimal fairness, I demand the author returned my money for thr in- app purchase which is 6 dollars. As it is now this is an unfinished product, the very first version was buggy, but one could play regularly on FICS. Unfair, to say the least. Why can't I sign in with my own nick using apaid full app??? Terrible.
