A must-have app for anyone using an Android device who also uses network based file storage/sharing (SMB, NAS, NFS, etc.). It doesn't matter what kind of device or even architecture... phone, tablet, emulator, x86, Fire TV/Stick/Cube, Android TV (smart TV platform or Android TV box approach, i.e., Shield TV, Chromecast w Google TV, or any of hundreds of other examples). If it runs Android/fork/variant thereof, you're going to want this app. A million thanks, dev(s)! CIFS helped me out tremendously!

It works great. But I am not sure if it is an issue with CIFS Doc Provider or the emulators I am using, like Duck Station, AetherSX2 or fMSX; I can navigate to a SINGLE file (game) from my NAS drive just fine, but I can NOT provide a DIRECTORY to be scanned by these emulators! They don't see CIFS Document Provider as an option in the list of providers of "Open From" files app. Single file works but not a directory.

I am using Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) phone, and I am able to access my shared Windows network folder structure, but none of the files appear there. Why would the nested folder structure be navigable, but not the files? VLC Player is able to find and play the files, so I do have access.

Pixel5\Andr14. I add an SMB share, "check connection" works, but after save I don't see a way to use the folder. I check "use as local storage" in settings and rebooted, but nothing changes. In Google "Files" app, the CIFS Documents provider appears under "Other storage", but clicking on it just opens the app. I tried some other file managers, no luck either. I only can see the content of the network folder when I click to upload a file in some other app, e.g. in telegram

Was able to configure and successfully test a connection to my cifs drive - but there was no (apparent) way to actually browse and access the files. Android 14 on Moto g55.
