Citizen introduces SafePass, a suite of COVID safety tools. With SafePass, you, your friends, and your family can be alerted if SafePass determines you may have been exposed to COVID and share health updates so you can make an an informed decision on how to better protect yourself from COVID-19, in accordance with local health office orders and protocols.
NEW: Use Pods to organize social gatherings with shared prerequisites like COVID testing, symptom tracking, and Bluetooth contact tracing.
• Create Pods with the people who matter most. You can check in on each other’s COVID-19 testing and health status so you can make an informed decision on how to protect your friends and family from COVID-19. • Have peace of mind around coworkers if you’re already back at your workplace or trying to figure out a strategy for returning to the office.. • As schools and universities reopen, help classes or study groups meet in person more safely. • Responsibly organize playdates with other families. • Enable Bluetooth contact tracing to get notified if you were near a SafePass user also using Bluetooth contact tracing who tests positive for COVID-19.
We keep your information safe. • All contact tracing data is encrypted, and deleted after 30 days. • No one profits from your contact tracing data. • Only people in the Pods you're a part of will be able to see information about you. • You can disable contact tracing at any time.
SafePass has partnered with the Los Angeles Department of Public Health and San Joaquin County Health Care Services.

THIS APP IS A FAILURE. Someone close to me has been rating themselves "unwell:" for the past week, yet Safepass continues to say "X feels good - 80+ day streak." Yet, this person is presumptive positive for C19, and I've been in-contact with them (and I can see in the app that the count is properly noted that I've been "in-contact" with them)... yet, I've gotten NO warning. So, this app is effectively useless for contact tracing and SHOULD NOT BE USED.

The citizen app used to alert you if you came into contact with a person in the general public who may have had covid19 symptoms. Now, it seems that "safe pass" only tracks those who are in your "pod". Yes, I understand the point of it, but for me personally, it was much more comforting knowing about every person I came into contact with and not just my immediate household...

Contact tracing doesn't work. I have tried multiple times to submit positive test results bc I had 2 Bluetooth contacts. I know 1 contact is my daughter. You text the results and the app never updates, but more importantly the Bluetooth contacts are not being notified.
