Great app for finding out your roots. The DNA is great as you can add the people you are matched with to your tree & get InTouch with them. Famous Ancestors (new) is not as great even though I had a look, I get people who are related to me though a 5x great uncle wife which means the famous person is not related to me at all. Which I don't want to appear.

When they send a push notification for a new hint, clicking it opens the app and doesn't show the hint. If the app is already open, it restarts the app, losing your place while still not actually working. it's been like this for years. They have no plans to fix this. Shut off push notifications if you install. Trivia is terrible. I t pulls from trees shared with you, often wrong information without citation. Trivia should pull from your own trees.

It's a classic rent-seeking scam. They gate keep public-domain and user-generated data behind a $720/year paywall, deliver mediocre or inaccurate results, and farm your family history + DNA like it's their property. It also takes advantage of people who just want to know more about their loved ones and ancestors by dangling emotional 'connect with your roots' marketing, then locking the info behind a bloated subscription for often-shoddy data. Subscription traps and data exploitation at its best

Difficult app to navigate, I can't seem to add the people that I already know that have an ancestry into my family tree. This is very frustrating. And there are add-ons even if you have the membership. It's always a nickel and dime.
