Description
Packing List helps you create and maintain packing lists. It not only lets the user create a list from scratch, but also allows you to generate lists from an existing one. This application comes with several pre-loaded packing master lists. You can simply open the master list(or any existing list). Click on “Generate List/Mass Change” menu item. Check the items you want for your trip and you will have a new packing list ready in no time.
You can group items by category, location, and luggage. Each item also has note, quantity and weight fields. Mass change features allow you to edit lists more easily. You may also email and share your lists. Printing out a copy of the lists helps you in case of lost luggage.

***Upgrade from Lite to Full app: When you upgrade from lite to full, you can use the "Backup and Restore" feature to migrate your data. To backup your lists, open the lite app and click on "Menu"->"Backup and Restore"->"Backup" in Routine View. Then click on "Backup" to use the default folder or "Select Folder" to choose a different location. Then open the full version, click on "Menu"->"Backup and Restore"->"Restore". It will open default backup location. Choose the folder which contains backup files and click on "Restore". If you have chosen different backup location, then navigate to that location and click on "Restore".

Love this app! Loved it so much I purchased the full app for cloud sync. Great to be able to switch between my phone and tablet for packing lists. I also love how I can take an old list and repurpose it to a new list without losing the old one. What I pack for camping is different from what I take on a cruise but not entirely. I still need the basics like a toothbrush and toothpaste, but I'm not likely to need my portable gas grill on a cruise. I've never used the weight feature but that is an incredible idea when overage fees for flights are so crazy. Allows me to make sure that I haven't forgotten to pack something at home and makes sure that I haven't left something at the hotel either. Can't say enough good things about this.

A Brilliant App - Good Developer Communication/Support. I read the reviews for many packing list apps and tried a few of the most highly rated ones. Some looked really ‘attractive’ but were rather limited in functionality and others would not allow editing of certain fields once they had been entered. Then I tried Packing List by DotNetIdeas. It may not look as ‘polished’ as some apps, but its functionality is far superior. All fields can be edited. The app takes a little getting used to - but is really worth putting in the effort. You are given a “masterpackinglist” as a starting point for developing your own. The “Generate List/Mass Change” mode is powerful for copying all or part of a list to make a new one or to add items to an existing list. The ability to add weights to every item (including luggage) is really useful. The app can then track the total weight for each piece of luggage - great when trying to keep within weight limits.

This app is great if you need similar stuff for regular journeys, for example business trips or weekends away. It takes time to make a "master list" of everything you might need, but then creating a list for the upcoming trip is easy.

One star because I am so bloody angry. This was a good app, did everything I wanted of it. It allowed me to customize my packing lists and create lists for different occasions. All was well until an update wiped out ALL my lists. I have searched all over my devices to no avail, and now I read that l'm not alone in this. Take my advice and keep copying off your devices. This is now beyond a joke, I back my list up, but when l came to use it this time, guess what? It had gone AGAIN. But this time it will not open any of my backed up copies. Using another XML viewer I can see that everything's still there, but the software will only restore half the items. I'm sorry but it's coming off.

Bad look and feel I used to love this app, but the color scheme and look and feel that came with the new update is terrible. I looked under settings but couldn't see how to change it. I'm looking for a new app.
