We decided last minute to rent a boat on Lake Norman, and Ferryboat made it incredibly easy. I could compare boats, prices, reviews, and owners all in one place. We found a great local owner, got a better value than many traditional rental companies, and had one of the best days of our trip. I’ll absolutely use Ferryboat again.

This being our first time renting a boat with a captain was a great experience. Captain Charles was our captain who was friendly and cool. I highly recommend doing this. It was such a positive experience.

24/7 hour support is a lie. My family of 15 including children under the age of 8 was stranded after an hour drive. The captain had poor communication to begin with and then decided to ghost us that afternoon. The service rep that helped us on the phone said Victor (the captain) had recently done the same thing to another family. Tell me why I can't leave a review on his page and why this app has NOT done a THING to him? As of today his listing is still up. This company supports liars. No, thanks

Terrible. Just book directly with the boat/charter company. I'm not sure the developers have ever done any usability testing on this app. Super frustrating just to navigate and use the app, and that's before you even consider the fact that it's just a rent-seeking middleman service that provides no real value to either the customer or the boat operator and generally makes the whole experience worse. Most legitimate charter operators have their own websites. Book directly with them.

Difficult to use, filters are badly designed, and you can't sort. Jesus I hope I'll find something better. An Excel would work better as long as I can actually look for the boats. Why are so many motorboats marked as sailing.

Frustrating for Owners – Support Is a Joke Sure, the app may be convenient for renters — but if you're a boat owner, good luck. Ferryboat’s support for hosts is almost as bad as Boat setter’s (which is saying something). You can follow every rule, provide all documentation, list your policies clearly, and still get run in circles for days with no resolution. They constantly delay action, side with unresponsive renters, and make basic reimbursements like fuel charges a nightmare.

Horrible customer service. I was ready to book a boat for a high net worth travel client, and they banned my account for no reason. Customer service extremely unhelpful.
