Comments on AusweisApp Bund for Android

★★★★☆ Josef · Aug 18, 2026

Works as advertised, but few places seem to actually use it. I have also Post-ID, which does the same thing. I wish I could figure out how to sign PDF documents with it.

★★★★★ Alexander Tuis · Aug 9, 2026

The process is a bit complicated. But it is for good reasons. Security does matter! And no issues during the process as such.

★★★★☆ Ayano Inuzuka · Sep 15, 2026

Does its job for me at least. Kinda annoying how you can't save card info for online verifications and repeatedly have to scan it

★★★★☆ Wan Trice · Jul 13, 2026

Sometimes it has problems scanning the ID, the app itself is great and user-friendly, easy to follow design and clear instructions on what to do. When scanning works everything else goes smoothly.

★☆☆☆☆ Heather · Sep 12, 2026

App does not detect my French eID. Scuppered at the very first hurdle. Half-baked product not tested before roll-out ?

★☆☆☆☆ Judit Kolos · Sep 30, 2026

It is impossible to login. doesn't recognize my account and just simply not possible to use. To connect to my laptop was hopeless... now my card reader says it is not connected to an existing account. But I can't resolve it as when I am trying to, it says there is already an existing account with this card. Unbelievable. 1.5 hours for nothing waited again.

★☆☆☆☆ Behnam KS · Sep 28, 2026

Unfortunately, the AusweisApp has a very frustrating user experience. I frequently run into errors, and pairing the app with my smartphone/card reader is often unnecessarily difficult. The UI is also very confusing: navigation and the placement of functions are unintuitive, there is far too much text everywhere, and important information is difficult to find. Overall, the UX/UI feels unnecessarily complicated and poorly designed. For an app that is supposed to make digital identification simple
