It seems to be running smoothly, and it doesn't overheat my phone, which is always a plus, but It's free version lacks basic functions like search-within-document, undo/redo, and search/replace. Also, I can't find a Standard Notes folder. I can't stand writing apps that don't let me copy, paste, or move around my documents as I see fit.

It's awful to use on Android. The marker keeps jumping around the whole note when writing, changing to capital letters and messing up what's already written. This have been persistent across several updates and is unacceptable for something this pricey.

Free tier is extremely bare-bones: no way to bold/italicize/underline text or make checklists unless you're on a paid plan. & even if you have a Proton paid sub, it doesn't cover Standard Notes which is an entirely separate sub (cheapest of which is $90 annually). Sure, end-to-end encryption is great, & really should be standard these days. But to not even allow basic text formatting? & it's not even included in Proton paid plans? Come on. I'll stick with my Google Keep Notes, thanks.

I've decided to look for other options. The UI changes from the old red theme were stale on arrival and haven't improved since. Pretty much every other open source app on my phone supports the newer look and feel of android. The app is still buggy too, so in preparation of migrating to a different app I exported my notes, however the export didn't finish until ten minutes later after I had given up and closed it. I hate to leave, but I've waited years now, and I want a better experience.
