Description
Is the next member of Congress a werewolf? Can you survive a lycanthrope's bite? There’s no silver bullet for winning an election!
"Congresswolf" is an interactive novel by Ellen Cooper, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based--140,000 words, without graphics or sound effects--and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
"Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner." -- James Bovard
When a werewolf murders your boss, you must step up to run a Congressional campaign all on your own. While werewolves, protestors, and worse--the media--lurk around every corner, you'll use everything you can to get your candidate elected.
Email servers? Tax returns? Who cares. Election-season secrets and October surprises are nothing compared to the possibility that your candidate might be a werewolf...or that you might become one yourself.
• Play as any gender, play as gay or straight • Set the right tone with your TV ads • Prep your candidate for debates • Impress big donors • Get out the vote • Find out who killed your predecessor • Decide where your candidate will stand on werewolf rights

While I detest the policy of a first few free chapters filled with ads, to then have to pay for the rest. I find that what I dislike even more is paying for something with no idea of whether it's any good or not. I can say that I don't regret my purchase at all. Initially, I found the ending unsatisfying, like there were too many loose ends left untied, but going back to find that a few alternate choices brought me to a much more satisfying conclusion was definitely redeeming. It's a little heavy-handed with the choices you're presented. It feels like a very aggressive correlation between other civil rights fights, thus you either agree with their stance or you're a bigot. It makes it feel like much less of a choice unless you're determined to play that particular path. At least that's the way it felt for me All in all it's an excellent story with a great amount of replay value. I'm likely to replay it several more times.

One of the best! I was looking for a werewolf story and this was the first one I found. And bonus - my Republican candidate always wins. Guess I'm a better campaign manager than I thought. X) lol

This story was okay, but you should make a novel about a wolf and choose your paths. My friends and I would be interested.

You only get 2 chapters for free the rest is for money.
★★☆☆☆Robert Ryals· Jan 30, 2017
This interactive novel is heavily politically biased, come on COG at the least you could include one positive Conservative/Republican candidate instead of having both be evil.

Good cringe I already this will be clingier than a kid on crack

Ooh that nasty cliffhanger though... Regardless, the build up to the end of the trial has been extremely boring. This is mostly because I am not fond of politics, and partially because the story is as dry as a biscuit. Won't be buying it, and would not like to read again.

I thought u guys had more respect for us than that. A true werewolf would never run for any kind of political office outside the pack. I'm very disappointed.
