WHAT IS THE 5-1-1 RULE?
Contractions about 5 minutes apart, lasting about 1 minute, for about 1 hour. This contraction timer alerts you with "Get ready" and "Go to the hospital" when your timings match. Some providers use 4-1-1 or 3-1-1, so you can set your provider's own rule. Smart stats restart after a long break, so early or false labor doesn't skew your numbers. A timing pattern alone can't confirm labor.
