Comments on Courier Journal for Android

★★★★★ James Andrew · Feb 11, 2026

The CJ is doing a great job of bringing journalism to Louisville. The Bingham would be proud!

★★★★★ John Roberts · Jan 27, 2023

Everything about The Courier Journal beats the heck out of the Lex Herald Leader 😊.....

★★★★☆ Marcia Combs · Jul 11, 2019

I love getting my updates but please, I do not need to get them twice! I enjoy being informed, not over informed. Thanks and keep up the excellent work!

★★★★★ Thomas Dunbar · Jul 14, 2021

The app works fine. The embedded, left-leaning editorial in what should be pure news stories is what keeps me from getting a paid subscription.

★★☆☆☆ Gary Farthing · Nov 28, 2020

Every time I want to read an article I have to sign in. You should treat your subscribers with better technology.

★★☆☆☆ Jeff Hughes · Jan 25, 2021

I can't get into half the articles because it wants me to subscribe even though I'm a print and digital subscriber. It keeps taking me back to log in. A constant loop.

★☆☆☆☆ William McMurry · Mar 11, 2024

The CJ app is laughable. Lately one cannot open the e edition bc an advertisement that covers the front page must be deleted before one can read the paper, and that ad does not fully open so one cannot get the newspaper open. This is just one of many frustrations, but if you can't read the e edition what is the point of having the CJ?

★★☆☆☆ Andrew Combs · Nov 23, 2020

This app suffers from a couple major flaws. For one, it doesn't handle notification settings correctly. In the app I've opted out of sports news alerts, and yet I get one or two push notifications a day about sports. Also, when I do click on a notification, it almost always asks me to subscribe. Problem is, I'm already subscribed. The app automatically logs me out nearly every time I close it, and I have to log back in every time I want to read an article. As a paying subscriber, I'm disappointed
