It does not solve the problem of authenticating the remote (you might not be chatting with the individual you think) and the authors seem to have a rather sketchy knowledge of cryptography, apparently thinking that 4096-byte (sic) keys are necessary - even 4096-bit ones are a gross overkill for this.
