Cup & Pour: Latte Art

Every cup in Cup & Pour is poured, not drawn.

Under the surface runs a live fluid simulation. The milk you pour really flows: it sinks under the crema, rises as white foam, spreads, curls and settles on the espresso. Hold the pitcher steady, bring it down at the right moment and watch a heart bloom in your cup. No two cups ever turn out the same.

How to pour
• Pick up the pitcher and hold it over the cup. The stream lands where you aim.
• Pour high to fill the cup, bring the pitcher low to draw in white.
• Turn the cup by its saucer or handle, even while you pour.
• Switch to slow pour whenever you need more control.

Patterns to master
• Heart: the first pattern every barista learns
• Tulip: stacked layers of milk with one clean cut through them
• Rosetta: a fern of fine white leaves
• Free pour: no template, just you, the milk and the cup

A score for every cup
Serve your coffee and see how closely it matches the template: a score out of 100 and a tip on what to change. Go low sooner, hold longer, pour closer to the center.

Your own coffee bar
Every cup you serve is saved as a photo on a wooden café table. Open it in 3D, spin it, look from above or from table height, and pour it again. Your last 60 cups stay in the gallery.
