CymaScope - Music Made Visible

★★★★★ "Use your voice to trigger the visible piano notes—great fun and can be used for voice coaching too." I downloaded it expecting that if I sang into the mic, I’d see the central pattern change and the correct key would appear to hold down. What actually happens is you hit the mic icon and the circle of keys disappears, replaced by a linear wave graphic and the name of the note you are singing. You still get the beautiful patterns though. For musical beginners (like me) it would be helpful if the app had the name for each white piano key to assist my fingers' navigation. Took me a while to get used to my real linear keyboard after I'd graffiti'd it with a marker, so the circular arrangement on the app bamboozled me. With some tweaks, this would be an excellent musical beginner tool. Already knew the app matched each piano key to a small movie of the real cymascope recording that note, so wasn't disappointed that you couldn't see live chord patterns. My girlfriend was disappointed by that though, so maybe in the future, once the apps' database gets big enough and movie compression improves, the app will progress from beautiful to AWESOME.

★★★★★ This app is excellent. Bearing in mind that the images produced are genuine laboratory grade images produced by ultrapure water and not simply computer generated gives it that extra authenticity. Any app exploring Cymatics is much welcomed, but this one is my particular favorite. As a Sound Therapist I found this app particularly useful for representing my sound therapy instruments and personal voice analysis. The fact that you can download and print off your unique CymaGlyph images allows for a personal voice journal to be kept. This app would also appeal to those interested in Sacred Geometry, I have no problem in recommending this app.

★★☆☆☆ In relation to Android phones there's no color and two of the functions don't work, which are the microphone and "i" functions? The microphone function was why I purchased the app. Can I get a refund or instructions on how to unlock the microphone? Hoping it's just my phone...

★★☆☆☆ 💩💩💩💩💩 DO NOT get if you have an updated version of Android it simply won't work very, very disappointed I am really disappointed in the lack of response and feel robbed for not getting a refund my understanding is it's not the cymatics of the amy live sound but recorded notes, a major disappointment. Could potentially be really beneficial to everyone. Just don't waste your money unless you are still living in 2017 it will not work. If you actually update it would be nice. 💩💩💩💩

★★☆☆☆ Purchased the app for the record function, and it does not function as shown on the video. I have been unable to record anything. If I can get it to record I will give a better rating. Right now it's nice to look at the preset notes, but it's mostly useless.
