This app always resets itself, need to manually open the app and connect the car BT, and then set the equalizer again every time, why is this so annoying?

I'm on s24 ultra with the latest firmware of android, and when I turn on this app, this says connect device first, although my phone is well-connected with my car audio via Bluetooth. Honda hft Bluetooth connection is established but not able to toggle audio. Every time I try to toggle audio, it automatically turns off. I reset all my settings on my car audio and re-paired the device, but no luck.
