Description
Daily Prayer PCUSA provides brief services for Daily Prayer based on the Presbyterian Book of Common Worship (WJKP, 2018), including: psalms for the day, readings from the daily lectionary, and prayers of thanksgiving and intercession. Also included are the Revised Common Lectionary readings for Sundays and festivals, a two-year cycle of selections from the PC(USA) Book of Confessions, and an eight-week schedule for praying all 150 psalms.
The app provides liturgies for Morning, Midday, Evening, and Night Prayer, selecting the appropriate service and lectionary readings based on the time and date settings of your iPhone or iPad. The calendar tool allows users to find psalms, readings, and prayers for other dates. Use the clock icon to select Morning, Midday, Evening, or Night Prayer, overriding current time of day.
The “advanced features” menu allows users to toggle on/off various options in the liturgy for Daily Prayer and select between two versions of the Lord’s Prayer.
A brief tutorial provides information about the practice of Daily Prayer and instruction on using the app.

Great PCUSA app! Though I like my Book of Common Worship: Daily Prayer, this app organizes four daily prayer periods with Psalms, scriptures, and prayers in one place. It is very convenient. Glad that it is available for Android.

This app is unbelievable, in that, throughout the day, an order of worship is given with two psalms, Old Testament, new, and gospel, plus, a lovely prayer, often applicable to our times, the Lord's Prayer, sometimes, even a few extras, and a closing prayer. Very meaningful to use daily in devotion to our God. Very meaningful during pandemic.

I use this app daily to access the daily lectionary readings. Updating it to include the new format of daily prayer from the new Book of Common Worship would be a real blessing to the church in this time of socially distanced worship.

Psalms section is a big disappointment 5 stars for automation and user customization of extensive lectionary readings and prayers. But I bought this app also to chant the Psalms, yet critical information, included in the printed Book of Common Worship-Daily Prayer, is missing. 1. The Psalms must be pointed. 2. Tones must be indicated. 3. There must be a melody line (in print or audio) to define each tone. See the Pray Now app by Concordia Publishing.

I'm updating my review. A few days ago, I logged in to use Morning Prayer, and found an almost blank page with "Range Error (length) invalid value: Not in inclusive range 0.2: -1". It still says this whenever I open the app. Some kind of error. Disappointing. I hope it can be repaired. I love this app! It's become such an important part of my discipline. I'm grateful to have found it.
