Deceit Island was made entirely in a week and submitted for The Community Game Jam 2019 with the theme "The Game Is A Liar".
Things in this world are not as they seem. Platforms aren't platforms, blocks aren't blocks, even clouds have it in for you! Everything is a trap. I bet you can't make it to the end. In fact, I will owe you my entire life savings if you do.
It's a trap!
If you like a brain teaser and a platformer and you don’t mind a bit of frustration, then jump into Deceit Island now and see if you can beat the traps!
You play as a chubby little robot/alien dude and you must avoid carrots, snails, and the rest of the entire island because nothing is safe in this impossible brain teaser platformer.
I wonder how you'll die first. Will you fall? Get impaled by spikes? Crash the game? I bet you'll just die from hitting your head too hard on a block. There are many obstacles in this brain teaser that make this platformer almost impossible and will build up a lot of rage.
Due to the many delusions and death traps hidden in plain sight that will cause immense amounts of rage, Deceit Island is almost impossible and causes a lot of frustration so any damage caused by anger and frustration is entirely the players fault and not the developers of this brain teaser ;)
The levels are filled with portals, lava, water, gaps, powerups, pipes, invisible blocks and many more and you must try and reach the end of this impossible platformer without building up too much frustration. Jump on blocks to reach the next checkpoint and pray you don’t jump on a falling block and land in the lava. This brain teaser will confuse you and cause a lot of frustration because of all the impossible traps that will make you rage and fail, but once you learn which blocks to jump on and what to avoid, you will eventually beat this impossible platformer.
Some innocent looking blocks will kill you and if you jump in some of the water it will boil you but you have to find out which ones do this by trial and error which will cause you to rage and fail. There are hidden traps that lock you in certain areas and cause you to rage even more.
