Defter – Micro Journal

Defter is a micro journal and intentions notebook that never pressures you.

DURING THE DAY: CAPTURE IN THREE SECONDS
Type or say what's on your mind. No categories, dates or priorities to pick; Defter guesses the type (task, thought, win, idea) and you can change it with one tap. Capture from the home screen widget, a Quick Settings tile or the app shortcuts, or share text and links to Defter from any app. In the morning, Defter can suggest up to three of your open tasks as today's intentions; you choose.

IN THE EVENING: CLOSE THE DAY
Defter gathers your day's notes into a short summary. You decide what happens to anything unfinished: move it to tomorrow, let it go, or save it for later. At most three items carry over to tomorrow; letting go is a choice too. An optional evening reminder nudges you gently.

NO GUILT
There is no "overdue", no red, no streaks. What's left undone is described in neutral words.

A JAR OF SMALL WINS
Things you finish and your wins gather in the wins jar.

JOURNAL, WEEKLY REFLECTION AND ASK
Read back through your days, with a short reflection on your week. Ask your notes things like "What did I write about moving last month?" Defter finds the matching notes, using time words like "last week" or "yesterday", and lists them so you can read the source.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything stays on your phone. Defter has no account, no ads, no tracking and does not even ask for internet access. Voice notes use your phone's on-device speech recognition; the audio is never recorded or saved. Export everything as Markdown whenever you like, or delete all data in one tap. Defter is completely free.

GOOD TO KNOW
Defter currently uses simple rules on your phone for summaries, reflections and Ask; there is no AI model in the Android app yet. Voice notes need your language's on-device speech pack to be installed. Available in English and Turkish, following your phone's language.
