DentalMonitoring is designed to help dental professionals monitor the evolution of their patients’ orthodontic treatments remotely, between in-practice appointments. It can only be used under the supervision of a clinician, who provides patients with their personal login information.
The DentalMonitoring app is intended to be used with the patented DM ScanBox and DM Cheek Retractor, to maximize the quality of each intraoral picture taken with patients’ smartphones.

Kept telling me to close my back teeth. I can't close any more than I was. Every little move I made the scan would stop, and she would say close your back teeth. Extremely frustrating especially trying to scan before work.

This app has a pattern of very terrible rollouts. From improperly rejecting scans (customer service validated were fine) to unexpectedly requiring an adapter (no warning and no way to scan), this app is wasting a ton of my time and prolonging the treatment plan. I really hope orthodontists hold this company accountable for their terrible app. I shudder to think how much they have to pay for this...

It was functional, if frustrating, up until January. Now we can't even get past the start sequence. The orthodontist gave us an LED adaptor, but it doesn't make any difference. We use the scan box to take photos, and it works just fine, even the preview window shows a good view of the teeth, but the app won't progress through the scan.
