Dictionary apps are generally worse than one would think, for some reason (most developed by Subsystems). This is easily the best of the bunch. I was using AHD, but the ads were so intrusive, subscription eye-popping expensive, and the app itself like something from 2010. I'm paying for the ad-free M-W now for a very reasonable price and am very pleased. The app feels modern and professional. Whatever you do, don't just Google words.

Though, this app provides you the details you ever need to know, it disrupts you from reading the info. There is this feature—whenever you tap a word, you automatically go into its definition— that is beneficial, but unnecessary if not improvise. It is accessible, but it might affect your time and effort if it is unintentional. What I recommend is that, instead of one tap, make it a twice-tap feature—if a word is unfamiliar, tap it twice to link in its definition. Helps users in certain ways.

Happens a lot. Doesn't provide definitions won't pronounce doesn't give any synonyms or origins with the word came from whether it's Latin or Greek based or whatever

I'm sorry but the full-screen ads are ridiculous. Why not just do banner ads if you have to do ads at all? I'm trying not to Google everything because their stupid AI just rips the info from you guys anyway, but when I'm faced with a 15-second full-screen ad just to look up a word it makes me want to abandon all morals and go straight back to Google. And no, I'm not paying to remove ads when the information is already online for free. Make ads less intrusive or suffer. Lowering from 3 to 1 star.

Subscription + No Offline. What's the point of a dictionary app if I have to pay to access any of the words I'll actually need to look into and there's no download to access offline? Don't waste your money on a subscription here; just use the website or buy the book— its cheaper anyway.
