Distilled Spirits Lab

Precision Sensory Evaluation for Distillers and Enthusiasts.

Whether you are refining a commercial batch or training your palate at home, Distilled Spirits Lab provides a rigorous, standardized platform for spirits evaluation.

Developed by Distillery University, this app digitizes the "Buckley Method" of sensory analysis. It allows users to move beyond subjective ratings and perform objective, standardized profiling of distilled spirits using industry-grade tools.

FOR THE ENTHUSIAST:

- Train Your Palate: Learn to detect and quantify specific characteristics—from "Fruity" and "Floral" to "Peaty" and "Feinty"—using guided sliders.

- Digital Spirit Passport: Maintain a permanent, searchable history of every bottle you taste. Track your sensory journey and reference past evaluations instantly.

- Automated Descriptions: Convert your raw scoring data into cohesive, professional tasting notes suitable for sharing or personal logs.

FOR THE DISTILLER:

- Quality Assurance: Benchmark new batches against previous reference standards to ensure consistency.

- Production-Ready Interface: The "Thumb Zone" design allows for full functionality using only one hand, keeping your other hand free for sampling on the distillery floor.

- Objective Analysis: Use the 9-point Buckley Method to identify technical faults and define flavor profiles with data rather than opinion.

KEY FEATURES:

- The Buckley Method: Evaluate spirits across 9 key dimensions on an interactive radar chart.

- AI Integration: Instantly generate detailed written summaries from your numeric data.

- Voice-to-Text: Record impressions in real-time without typing.

- Visual Profiling: Assess the balance and depth of a spirit at a glance with the Buckley Star visualization.
