Description
The Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan guides you through the ESV Bible in a year with readings from 4 different sections of the bible each day:
1) OT History & Prophets 2) Wisdom Books & Isaiah 3) Gospels 4) Epistles and Acts
Because many Old Testament books are often more difficult for people to read through and enjoy, these books are paired with the Psalms, Gospels, and Epistles. In this way reader interest is not lost and so the soul can always find something to feed on each day while still covering the entirety of God's Word and cultivating an understanding and enjoyment of the whole Bible. This approach has proven to be more sustainable and enjoyable than simply reading the Bible cover-to-cover from Genesis to Revelation.
For example, the reading for Day 1 includes: 1) Genesis 1-2 2) Psalms 1 3) Matthew 1:1-17 4) Acts 1:1-11
"Makeup" days are built into the plan for each month. Each month has 25 days of readings, so you can miss a few days without getting too far behind; this practical measure helps to make this a sustainable reading plan.

I have used this app for several years and I love it. I have an android cell phone and a couple of tablets, and I use it on all of them. Once I figured out the technology of using Dropbox to sync across all my devices, I always have an up-to-date record with me. Now wherever I find myself with time on my hands, I can either read or listen. I love it! I have 3 grandsons who came to Gramma's house this past summer, and we talked about the importance of reading God's Word daily. We are blessed that they are growing up in homes that honor God already, but it's important for grandparents to add that other layer of Deut 11:18, 19, and I encouraged them to put DJ Bible Reading on their tablets. We talk about what we've read or listened to when we visit. As a retired pastor's wife, I spent years urging our church people to read the Bible and now, it is so easy, I say, "God's Word will read itself to you! No excuses."

Version (esv) is missing scripture verse so far. Matt 17:14-27 daily reading was missing verse 21. "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." -Matt 17:21 KJV

Great app, but reading option stopped working. I deleted it and reinstalled it several times, and it is still not working. It now closes down all the time without time to read the passage

Start dates The start dates reset for all topics. Two days later just the epistles reset.
