Description
This is the official Racing Weight Diet Quality Score App, now with the ability to save your DQS data for as long as you want and view graphs of your progress over time!
This app allows you to calculate your daily Diet Quality Score (DQS) as described in Matt Fitzgerald's book, Racing Weight.
The Diet Quality Score is a simple instrument that allows athletes to measure the overall quality of their diet. The DQS Mobile app was designed to make it as easy as possible to calculate a Diet Quality Score each day.
FEATURES: - Track daily food servings with simple tap interface - View detailed explanations for each food category - Save and track your DQS data indefinitely - Log weekly weight measurements - View progress graphs over weeks, months, or years - Set target weight and DQS goals - Track DQS scores by specific food categories
HOW IT WORKS: As you eat throughout the day, enter the servings of each category of food that you consume. Tap a box to consume one serving of that category, tap it again and it will become a half serving, and one more tap will set it back to zero for that box. You can tap the category name to view an explanation of what foods fall under that category. Your total DQS score for the day is shown in the upper right corner of the page.
The Graphs page lets you see how you are doing with your Diet Quality Score over time. You can view your data over the last week, month or year. When viewing yearly data, it is displayed as 52 week-long averages.
SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION: New users: Start with a 7-day free trial! - Monthly plan - flexible month-to-month access - Annual plan - significant savings for committed athletes
Note: Users who previously purchased DQS Mobile maintain access to current features at no additional cost. Thank you for being an early supporter!
Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Payment will be charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase after the free trial ends. Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase.
Recent changes: Now with water tracking! Track your hydration on the main tracking page, water servings do not have any effect on your DQS score.

Love the DQS idea out of Matt's book, but its difficult trying to keep track on paper. I thought this is begging to be made into an app. And here it is! Signed up and using no problems so far! Love it!

Worth it... The app works well with my phone. I really like the DQS system. I think more people should use it just for everyday weight loss. Would love to see trend data. Thanks!

This app is helpful overall, but there are a couple of obvious improvements that could be made. 1) Add a body fat percentage metric. It's more than a little bit surprising that this is absent, especially in light of the importance given this measurement in the companion book (Racing Weight). 2) More specific guidance regarding how to score particular foods. Tapping on the categories gives general guidelines regarding what is included in each category, but a searchable database of specific foods would be a big plus. For example, I am uncertain how to score cacao powder or gelatin powder that I sometimes add to smoothies... This second feature might be a lot to ask, but the BFP metric shouldn't be a big deal.

The one thing I don't like is that eggs are lumped in with meat. I'm a vegetarian and eat a fair amount of soy but also eat eggs. Would love for eggs to be with dairy, so I can also track using the plant proteins heading

If this app worked well, I would probably give it 4 stars. It is simple and easy to use (when it works). However, 2 big issues with it: 1) It often forgets what I have already input for the day. I load it and the day has no info 2) It crashes on re-load almost every time. It's quite quick to start up, so it doesn't make it unusable, but very irritating

Huge let down This is a disappointingly poor app and nothing but a glorified calculator. In its current to form it's a huge let-down compared to the series of Race Weight books which are excellent. To avoid diluting the race weight 'brand' this app should be taken out of circulation and enhanced with features such as saving features, dateline QFS and the ability to track other race weight measures e.g. weight, body fat.
