Drill Sergeant is an app blocker that makes you earn your screen time. It blocks the apps that eat your day, like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, until you earn them, using Android's Accessibility Service (see "How blocking works" below). Every time you open one of those apps, you face the checkpoint and choose:
REPORT IN: tell Captain Jack what you got done. 10 minutes of scrolling per productive hour. Big claims get audited.
DROP AND GIVE ME 10: push-ups verified by your camera, counted on your phone. 1 push-up = 1 minute.
STAND DOWN: walk away. No minutes. Just the win.

HOW BLOCKING WORKS (ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE)
Drill Sergeant uses Android's AccessibilityService API for one thing: to notice when one of the apps you chose to block (for example TikTok or Instagram) comes to the screen, so that Captain Jack's checkpoint appears in front of it, and appears again when the minutes you earned run out. This is the app's core feature; blocking can't work without it.
- It only detects which app is open. It never reads, records or shares what is on your screen, and it never types or taps for you.
- Nothing about your app use leaves your phone.
- You switch it on yourself in Android's Accessibility settings, after the app explains what it does and asks for your consent. You can switch it off there at any time.
- Drill Sergeant is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities; it uses this API only to block the apps you chose.
PRIVACY: push-up detection runs entirely on your phone. Camera images are never stored or uploaded.
