I was battling Walwrath and I had 100 health with 65 shield. How did he once shot kill me? Im over this game. Its needs serious rebalancing

Hi devs, I'm giving this game a low rating to get your attention. It's a 5/5 game. Would it be possible to lock each character's ascension level separately? Once I clear ascension 20, all other characters are able to play at ascension 20 as well, which makes me less motivated to challenge myself by playing other characters.
