Ear Hop is an ear-training game. Every sound is a question. A winged ear flies across a music stage, a row of speakers plays a sound, and the gap that names the sound is the way through. Hear it, name it, go on.

FIVE EAR-TRAINING GAMES

Notes
Is the second note higher or lower? Then the game plays a C as a reference and a new note after it. Name the note and fly through its gap. It starts with C and G and grows to all twelve notes.

Intervals
Two notes play, one after the other. Which interval was it? Fly through the gap that names it. It starts with the octave and the fifth and grows to every interval in the octave.

Singing
A gate shuts the way between the speakers. The game plays a note — sing it into the microphone and the gate opens. The game listens with real-time pitch detection and shows the note you sing, so you learn to find the pitch and hold it. Any octave works, so low and high voices play the same game.

Perfect pitch
One note, no reference. Which note was it? This is the hardest test for your ear. It starts with two notes and grows to all twelve.

Rhythm
The music plays and the ear flies by itself through a club full of lights. Tap each note when it reaches the gold square. Early, late or missed taps make the ear lose control. The rhythm changes and grows from song to song.

A STAGE FOR EVERY GAME

Each game has its own stage: a lavender studio, a sunset, a karaoke stage with spotlights, a neon night and a club with a disco ball. The stage moves with the music — the sound waves, the floor equalizer and the speakers pulse with what you hear. The speakers that ask the question pulse with its sound, so you always know where the sound comes from. As your score grows, the speakers grow too: a small box, a wooden hi-fi, a guitar amp, a concert PA and a neon club speaker.
