So if your school has you log in to the site Elsevier with a username, then for the app you need to log in with the email instead. Also, the password is a different password for (vital source books) app. So you need to reset the password inside the app and then remember to use that password for the app (vital source books) only. The website uses a separate password. I had this issue, and it's very confusing, but I got it working. Hopefully these instructions will help other people with this issue.

Redeemed my books on the website according to the instructions on the inside cover of my book and used the access code no problem. Downloaded the app, no account exists for my email. I make one. Codes don't work. Useless. Can't use my books on my phone with this app. Does anyone know how to link accounts?

I had to create an account through vital source, even though I already have one through Elsevier, which was annoying but not near as difficult as their live chat help. A useless feature since it was not helpful. Once I finally got signed up and logged in, I was unable to find my book, or any book for that matter. I tried typing in the title any which way, I tried the authors, I even tried just the word "nursing" expecting to sift through dozens of random books, and nothing. This app is useless.
