I'm hoping I don't jinx my experience so far. We've been Empower clients since 2019. Maybe it makes a difference if one is a private client, but we have not experienced the types of problems folks have listed. I'm able to log on the mobile using biometrics without a problem. We rely heavily on the app and laptop version and check in at least once a day (it's a gr8 way to monitor accounts). The functionality and usefulness are terrific, especially the Retirement Planner and Budget features.

Amazing way to keep track of your finances. I can see all of my debts and assets all in one place without juggling between apps or using a spreadsheet. I can't imagine finances without this app. It's free, and only suggests you meet with their financial planner maybe once a month.

As of June 2026, I've been using it for a couple of months with no issue. Works mostly as well as the old app now. Needs dark mode and accounts getting out of sync is still an issue--like the old app. But glad to see login issues resolved.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. My employer recently switched to Empower for our retirement accounts. I was able to initially make my account on a computer. The app says I don't have an actual account, so I cannot access my retirement. Even when I try to "recover my account" the app crashes every time I put in my date of birth. I really wish that my employer didn't switch to Empower.

Try to reset my password when I tap on the fields to put in my info just instantly closes the keyboard no matter what I do

Absolute trash. The app is constantly giving me hell, and now I simply cannot log in. It refuses to open my keyboard to be able to type in my log in info. If they can't even get the app right, I wonder how difficult It's going to be to pull my funds when I retire.
