Comments on Empyrean for Android

★★★★☆ Marc Puzon · Jun 24, 2022

It's an exciting read! The setting is rich, characters are interesting, some jarring story choices here and there, but overall enjoyable to play and replay through.

★★★★★ Lachlan McLaren · Jun 23, 2018

This game is amazing. Great writing, impactful choices with branching paths and excellent prose and characters. But goddamn can the stats be confusing early on.

★★★★★ CA DA · May 25, 2019

Excellent story, well-developed characters. Outcomes respond to attribute profiles, good opportunities to develop traits throughout the course of the game, with choices that clearly correspond to one or another trait(s) and also make sense within context. Would love to see more from this author. I would definitely pay commensurately more for a longer version. Only thing I would change is to offer option of having attribute changes noted after each change, like in some other CoGs.

THIS IS BULL, THEY FORCE ME INTO THE REVOLUTIONARY....THIS GAME IS TRASH.....ALSO WHAT'S THE POINT OF GIVING ME AN OPTION TO DO SOMETHING AND NOT LET ME DO IT, I FEEL LIKE MOST CHOICES I MAKE DON'T MATTER AT ALL....... but a tiny black disc at the base of your skull. You could hide it with a scarf or a raised collar WOULDN'T MY HAIR COVER IT ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE A FEMALE CHARACTER.........but then the old woman notices the trode at the base of your skull. MY FEMALE CHARACTER HAS HAIR RIGHT🤬😡

Okay story, but it feels unbalanced. Your stats change too easy, and the options aren't well written, so you know which stat is being used. For example: you might find an option that says, "if you are quick enough you could repair this or that". Does that option judge your finesse or technical skill? It is very easy to accidentally screw up.

I play a lot of choice games, but for some reason this one just didn't entertain me at all. Also, I didn't like the ending.
