Description
Wondering whether your Android phone supports eSIM? eSIM Check tells you in one tap — no signup, no fluff.
WHAT IT DOES • Detects whether your phone has eSIM hardware and whether your specific model/region combination is known to ship with eSIM enabled. • Three honest verdicts: Supported, Region-locked, or Not supported. We don't pretend the result is yes when it's actually "depends on your carrier". • Works on Android 9 and up.
HOW IT WORKS The check runs entirely on your device. We read public Android APIs — EuiccManager, the eSIM hardware feature flag, and your phone's manufacturer/model — and combine them with a bundled compatibility list curated from carrier specs, GSMA notes, and known regional firmware quirks. Nothing about your phone leaves the device for the check itself. No SIM identifiers (ICCID/EID/IMSI/IMEI) are read or transmitted — the check itself doesn't require any permission.
WHAT YOU GET ON THE RESULT SCREEN • A clear yes / region-locked / no verdict with a plain-English explanation. • If your phone supports eSIM: a shortlist of trusted travel-eSIM providers (such as Airalo and alosim) with side-by-side taglines. • A quick "How to activate eSIM" guide with a one-tap deep-link straight into your phone's SIM settings — works across Pixel, Samsung, Xiaomi, and most other OEMs.
WHY USE IT • Carrier websites are vague and outdated. Manufacturer pages bury the answer in spec sheets. • Region-locked variants (e.g. mainland-China Galaxy / Xiaomi) are notorious for reporting eSIM hardware that's actually disabled. eSIM Check flags those explicitly. • Useful before buying an eSIM data plan for travel, before switching carriers, or before buying a second-hand phone.
PRIVACY • Detection is on-device. We don't have a server. • If you opt in, anonymous usage analytics and crash reports help us improve the app. You can decline, and you can change your mind later via the in-app Privacy options. • Some links are affiliate links — we may earn a small commission if you buy a data plan, at no extra cost to you. The app makes this disclosure on the result screen.
