Description

Are your ready for the challenge of climbing all of the Peak District's Ethels? Named after Ethel Haythornthwaite (the pioneer behind the Peak District National Park), the Ethels are all of the Peak District hills over 400m above sea level and significant lower prominent hills. Fewer, lower, easier and (for most of the UK's population) closer than the Munros of Scotland and the Wainwrights of the Lake District.

Explore the highest hills of the Peak District. Track your progress through your own dated log and by using the interactive map from OpenStreetMap.

Bonus level of the Peak 75 hills, on completion of the Ethels.

Excellent, if unsophisticated, app of most of the Peak District hills. Well laid out and informative. It could be improved by linking it to a GPS app i.e. Strata, so that when you climb a peak it automatically ticks it off for you rather than having to do it manually. However, even without that feature, it's still worth 5*.

Great app to set yourself an achievable challenge. For Ethels with no trig point the map with gps location is helpful. Unfortunately I cant figure out a way to synch between my phone and tablet, nded to tick off on both devices.
