File Transfer by Hostragons helps nearby devices find each other on the same local network and send files, folders, photos, videos, music, and copied text directly between them. Choose what to send, select a nearby device, and approve the transfer on the receiving device.

Your transfer, your network

Transfers are made directly between your devices over the local network. Files and text you transfer stay on your devices and are not uploaded to a cloud storage service by this app. They are not used to target advertising.

File Transfer by Hostragons works on phones, tablets, Play-enabled Chromebooks, and supported Android TV receiver devices. Both devices must be able to reach the same local network. Availability of individual features can depend on Android version, device hardware, network settings, and the receiving device.

The complete transfer feature set remains available for free. On phones and tablets, the free tier is supported by carefully limited Google AdMob ads: an adaptive banner can appear only on the content-bearing Receive dashboard, and a preloaded full-screen ad may appear only after a successful transfer when you tap Done. Full-screen ads are limited to three successful displays in any rolling 24 hours, with at least fifteen minutes between them. An unavailable ad never delays an action, and ads never interrupt discovery, approval, transfer progress, retries, errors, or Android TV receiver mode.

Optional Hostragons Pro removes every ad. It is an annually renewing Google Play subscription; the exact localized price, renewal terms, and management controls are shown by Google Play before purchase. No transfer feature is locked behind Pro.

Recent changes:
Open folder now uses the received file’s actual folder when Android document storage provides it, with safer handling for other storage providers.
