After a while, looks like I've found the app to search and remove dups that: Works with Andro v12 Manual or auto selection to be deleted Allows selection of file types ...and external storage ...but not subfolders like in another great app by same author "Duplicate Images"

At last. A simple duplicate file remover. Allowed me to automatically keep the oldest or newest version and delete all duplicates without having to delete each separately like when using file manager.

Allows you to select a single folder, which is exactly what I needed. Crashed once during while deleting ~1000 files, but running it a second time had no problems! Thank you.

Hmmm. Could not find the internal file for granting access to the ext. SD card. No stars for ease of use. 1 is obligatory but does not reflect satisfaction.
