Button Mapper makes it easy to remap custom actions to your volume buttons and other hardware buttons. Remap buttons to launch any app, shortcut or custom action with a single, double press or long press.
Button Mapper can remap most physical or capacitive keys and buttons, such as volume buttons, some assist buttons, and capacitive home, back and recent apps keys. Button Mapper can also remap buttons on many gamepads, remotes and other peripheral devices.
Root is not required for most actions, however some require an adb command from a connected PC if not rooted. Button Mapper does not work when the screen is off unless your device is rooted or you run an adb command.

Not all phones have home, back and recents buttons!

Accessibility is used to detect when the physical or capacitive buttons are pressed on your device so they can be remapped to custom actions to accommodate your needs. It is not used to see what you type. Button Mapper does not collect or share any of your personal information, it is safe and your privacy is respected.
This app uses the Device Administrator permission. (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN) This permission is used to lock the screen if the "Turn screen off" action is chosen. If you want to remove this permission, open Button Mapper, click on the menu (three dots in the upper right corner) and select "Uninstall"

for peopling with phones that have the traditional bottom-3 physical navigation buttons; this is a must-try. It makes using swipe navigation on these phones viable by allowing you to bind single tap to nothing (so if you swipe nav and press it, the button doesn't register)and opens up their use for custom binds with double and triple tap. That's 6 extra custom macro key binds materialized out of nowhere, more if you fw the volume keys! Good perf makes this a 5 stars experience

Does what it is expected to, the only nuance is that when I customize zello ptt on vol up or down long press, it continues until held again. The zello ptt on the main options screen works flawless, but it's both vol up and down, thus taking away my settings for single double and Long volume presses. If we could separate the main settings screen ptt to allow ptt vol up and a separate setting for vol down, this would hands down be the best app out there.

The power on/off on my Galaxy Note is broken plus I hate the Bixby nonsense so I uninstalled all Bixby apps via adb. Wanted to use this app to remap the now vacant Bixby buttons to toggle on/off the phone screen. These app allows you to toggle screen off but not on again - eh?? Yes you say when screen is off phone cannot respond to button presses, but you should find a work around since remapping off/on seems the most logical use for this app yet; no support!!

Stopped working on 1 button, and now being told it's a pro feature and to PAY!? 😂 immediately uninstalled, better options out there for free Edit: it's installed on a Chromecast not Samsung, and it's the Netflix button that stopped working.
