Update: Flickr responded 🐸 If you had/have issues with the new release, you can uninstall it and reinstall, as the old release is now on the Play Store. After entering an Email service request, I got a nice note back telling me that the old release was back while they worked on issues. I've used the app for years and was very happy with it; however, the latest Android update has made it almost unusable.

UPDATE: they've pulled the new app - uninstall and reinstall to get the old one back while they sort out the new one! 🎉 Original review from mid-July 2026: New app has lost various features including ability to share from my Gallery straight to Flickr, locations list is massively depleted, can't add multi-word or capitalized tags, no autocomplete for tags.

Edit Aug 9 2026 -- they fixed it! I uninstalled Flicker Ver 5.0.1 and installed the version on the play store Ver 4.17.61 (40170610). Note - The first time I opened Ver 4.17.61 and turned on auto-upload, it did not start auto-uploading. I had to toggle the auto-upload off and on again, then it asked to have access to my media (I selected "all media") and then it got to work. I had to adjust my screen time-out to 10+ minutes to ensure it checked all 6k+ photos and videos.

Flickr was my go to photos haring app for many years. Since 2009. The new updates have destroyed the experience. There is no landscape view of images on the mobile app now. Adding images to groups is cumbersome. Many of the changes reduced functionality for a photographer.

Please bring back the old version! This is for android. The new one is terrible in many ways but the most annoying update is that now I can't add my photos to multiple groups as I used to. It's really bad!

Uploading photos has always been problematic, but it's almost impossible now. Usually end up using web page in desktop mode, but that requires good eyesight! It's kind of OK for viewing, but quite often it doesn't show some images in the activity feed when returning to the activity feed from viewing a photo, even on good connections. Update 23/07/2026 (new app) Upload may be better, but no heic image support Issues: Laggy Blank photos Viewing multiple image posts clunky Can't view in landscape
