I've used many different language learning apps to find what works best for me - this is easily one of my favorites. Stories are broken into sections of one or two sentences, allowing you to thoughtfully digest bites of language without chewing through a gristly slab of text. The translations are clean, and they capture the page's meaning rather than the literal translation. The audio is excellent for correcting your pronunciation of certain words or entire sentences. Fantastic learning tool!

This app used to be my favorite go to when I wanted to learn a language, but I just can't put up with the subscription. Only 10 minutes?!

Thought this was an app for beginners to read books in another language, but it's more for intermediate learners who already have a grasp on the language. Also, it's disappointing that it's only set for European countries. I'm learning Latin American-spanish, which is different from Spaniard-spanish. Even the English option is only England-english. But to only be able to use it 10 minutes a day after the free trial was definitely the final nail in the coffin.

Appalling. This won't just fail to teach you a language, it'll teach you WRONG. I'm fluent in French (native English) but need a refresher, so picked Advanced. Horrifying! This isn't natural French, but translated - badly! - from English. "Je n'ai Jamie été interested par ce genre" is just plain INCORRECT. It's "Ce genre ne m'a Jamie intéressé". Clearly no French-speaker ever looked at this. (Also, "Advanced" really isn't. Advanced would have slang, technical and other specialist words, etc.)
