After some problems with other music notation apps I decided to actually fork in the cash to try Forte. I was initially turned off by its price and visual appearance, but it was only $15 AUD and the appearance is actually very streamlined, intuitive and comprehensive. Saving files in a different directory is a little troublesome but sending to Google Drive is a good workaround.

Has worked well but since most recent update I have not been able to open the Dropbox files. After logging in the app goes to 'forte notation' after having briefly tried 'Dropbox'. I have confirmed that my login details are correct. I can still login from the Dropbox website. Geoff 19 Feb 2020. The latest update has made it work again - excellent, however there is now a new problem! It doesn't go immediately to the folder with the music. The user has to go down the tree to the folder. Not ideal.

I would get the pro version but the library is too basic. There is no search function, and I can't create set lists. This makes it unsuitable for gigs for me, I can't waste time on stage scrolling through a library of 100+songs. Could you add these functions please? I would absolutely buy the pro version if it had this as it has everything else I need; transposition, viewing individual instrument parts.

Chords symbols not imported in XML Useless for me. It doesn't import chord symbols and other symbols such as rhythm notation symbols "/" slash bars.

I'm trying to find a score editor to compose on the go and export scores. The features are locked, so I can't even create a test score. I managed to import a midi file of a composition for cello; the cello sounds absolutely awful. I'm willing to pay for an app, but I want to try it out first to see if it suits my needs (like exporting properly to music XML); it's impossible to try out this app.

Can't even get started, selecting New Score from New Score/Open then Not Now in response to Premium just loops back to New Score/Open screen. How are you meant to even try the app out if the trial version doesn't work?
