Comments on GBH News for Android

★★★★★ Well it works This is not a pretty app to look at, or use, but it does play wgbh like it says it does. The good point is that you can turn the screen off and still stream audio the bad point is that it lacks Chromecast support (which all android, audio or video, apps should have)

★★★★★ The app works well, when it does not frequently crash at times as highlighted by my Android!

★★★★★ Nice to have this option since I don't have a radio tuner in my phone anymore. This is clearer than the signal in my car.

★★☆☆☆ Playing an ad on launch is a bad user experience. I don't have that problem when I turn on the radio in my car. This happens incessantly if you're at the edge of Wi-Fi range as the phone switches between 5g and Wi-Fi. There's no scrubbing or rewind. It's a shame this app has been left to languish. The BUR app is marginally better, so I usually use that, but it has its own problems. A few common sense improvements to this GBH app would make it my preferred choice.

★★☆☆☆ Constant Crashes. I can't listen to more than a few minutes before the app just stops playing.

★★☆☆☆ Really like listening to Boston Public Radio (and WGBH in general) when I catch it airing but unlike the BUR app, seem to encounter nothing but problems with this app. To begin with, it shuts down when my screen goes to sleep, or I turn the screen off myself. Also, again unlike On Point (BUR), no luck accessing recent episodes through Tune-In.
