Comments on Glasgow Libraries for Android

★★★★☆ Some Curiosities · Aug 24, 2024

Very good app but it would be truly great if: 1. Could set/change location when exploring what my local library is instead of just using my current geographic location. 2. Could change distance preferences when viewing distance to local library. Currently, you confusingly use meters and miles? 3. When viewing an item and seeing the item is on loan, allowing me to see if the item is overdue, and if so, when it was supposed to have been returned 4. Add a wishlist feature like on the website.

★★★★☆ A Google User · Oct 8, 2012

Books and much more Only the lack of automated reminder when books are due backstops thos being 5 stars. A must for anyone who has ever used a Glasgow library.

★☆☆☆☆ Ivancho · Aug 30, 2021

Won't stay logged in. I have to log in each time I start the app. Please fix. Thank you.

★☆☆☆☆ Jonathan Leck · Mar 25, 2017

Doesn't work. Picture of the Mitchell Library then a black screen that doesn't change.

★☆☆☆☆ james · Jul 24, 2012

Would be good if it worked I can't log in and every time I type my borrow no. in....the app closes.

★★☆☆☆ James · Jun 21, 2012

Painfully slow to start up, slow to run - even with a Wi-Fi connection. If you accidentally tap the icon and try to stop it (or accidentally hit 'back' when opening it) it locks up even a dual-core galaxy s2 it runs the processor so hard. The barcode feature for your account is useless as most smartphone screens are too bright for the lasers at library desks to use.

★☆☆☆☆ Karen Sharp · Apr 21, 2025

I'm trying to get onto the app, and it won't load at all. I have been having this same problem since I signed up to the library recently and tried to log in. It just doesn't get past the open screen. I didn't get an email as well to activate my account. I have been trying to check when I have to hand in my borrowed books and when to pick up reserved books. It's quite frustrating.
