Glaze Tile Notes

Glaze Tile Notes is an offline-first pottery notebook for ceramicists who fire one named kiln load of test tiles at a time. Cold start opens a fullscreen kiln-shelf grid: a cream surface of square glaze chips, each showing a colour swatch strip, glaze name, cone, clay body, and a tiny result badge (stable, crazing, run, pinholes). See every glaze test on one shelf so you stop guessing which cone–clay–coat combo actually worked after the last firing. Named kiln-load batches keep each firing as its own shelf face without breaking the grid metaphor. Log each tile in full: • Glaze name, house recipe code, brand or batch note • Clay body, cone (06–10+), and kiln shelf position • Application method—dip, brush, or pour—and coat count • Free-text mix notes for your studio process After the firing, record results on the same card: colour outcome, crazing, running, pinholes, crawling, blistering, plus a keep, reject, or retest decision chip. Work the shelf faster: • Clay-body and cone filter chips isolate one body or cone across the grid • Side-by-side compare stacks two or three tiles’ recipes and result badges • Local search by glaze name, recipe code, or result tag with instant filtering • Defaults for clay body, preferred cone, and compact or large tile density First launch includes a seed shelf—celadon on porcelain cone 6, tenmoku on stoneware, clear liner tests, shino crawl samples—so you start with a usable grid, not an empty state. Export a plain-text firing sheet of the active load (recipe and result lines) through the system share sheet. No shops, cameras, cloud, or network required. Your tests stay on device, organized like the shelf you already use.
